Queen Anne

This home was constructed in 1894 in a “Queen Anne” style. The property was built for Dr. Charles Rollin Coffeen and his wife, Jennie Branson Coffeen. Dr. Coffeen had three children but sadly lost a son at the age of 11 from meningitis, and in 1899 he lost his wife at the age of 40. He originally had his doctor’s office sitting on the property (where the driveway currently sits), and built the house next to it. He sold the property in 1901 to Dr. Webb Kelly, a renowned surgeon for the railroad. The property was later sold to George Peffer, President of the Piqua National Bank. Mr. Peffer was a very prominent Piqua resident. He served on many boards and contributed a lot to the community. He passed away in 1955. The house passed through a couple more owners, and businesses including a beauty shop and photography studio. Okey and Thelma Scott, Tammy’s grandparents, purchased the home in 1991. After Mr. Scott passed away in 2013, David and Tammy took possession along with their two sons. Sadly a house fire occurred a few months later. Thanks to the Piqua Fire Department, the fire was contained quickly and the woodwork and the majority of the structure was saved. The woodwork along with the 4 fireplaces, enhance this beautiful home.
